After graduating high school in New Hampshire, Patricia decided to join the Navy, and was able to earn a college degree while serving 4 years in the Navy as a jet engine mechanic, stationed in Mississippi. Upon leaving the Navy, Patricia taught English in elementary school. After getting married and becoming a mother of two children, Patricia became a housewife. Unfortunately, the marriage dissolved and as a 36 year old, recently divorced single mother of two young daughters, Patricia decided to try to go to law school. Patricia had to hold down 3 jobs, borrow a lot of money, but successfully fulfilled a long time dream of becoming an attorney. After relocating to the Austin area for personal reasons, Patricia passed the Texas Bar, and decided to start my own family law firm. I wanted to provide to clients the kind of sensitive and empathetic legal support Patricia was fortunate enough to receive.
Patricia L. Brown & Associates has represented hundred and hundreds of men and women in Williamson and Travis counties, facing divorce and other family law issues. Patricia became Board Ceriified in Family Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. Her two paralegals, Paula Israel and Julia Rapp, are also Board Certified in Family Law. The firm is the only family law firm in Williamson County with a Board Certified family lawyer and two Board Certified family law paralegals. In addition, the firm added Ms. Farah Ahmed as an Associate Attorney. Ms. Ahmed has been practicing family law in Williamson County for ten years. Both Ms. Brown and Ms. Ahmed are intimately familiar with the courts and judges where client's cases will be adjudicated. The firm has handled a wide variety of divorces, child custody and child support issues, spousal support (alimony), prenuptial and cohabitation agreements, unmarried father's rights, unmarried mother's rights, grandparent's rights, modifications, visitation, adoptions, etc. Our clients are primarily from Round Rock, Cedar Park, Georgetown, Hutto, Pflugerville, Wells Branch, and north Austin.
